मंगलाचरण

गगन के उस पार क्या,

पाताल के इस पार क्या है?

क्या क्षितिज के पार? जग

जिस पर थमा आधार क्या है?

दीप तारों के जलाकर

कौन नित करता दिवाली?

चाँद - सूरज घूम किसकी

आरती करते निराली?

चाहता है सिन्धु किस पर

जल चढ़ाकर मुक्त होना?

चाहता है मेघ किसके

चरण को अविराम धोना?

तिमिर - पलकें खोलकर

प्राची दिशा से झाँकती है;

माँग में सिन्दूर दे

ऊषा किसे नित ताकती है?

गगन में सन्ध्या समय

किसके सुयश का गान होता?

पक्षियों के राग में किस

मधुर का मधु - दान होता?

पवन पंखा झल रहा है,

गीत कोयल गा रही है।

कौन है? किसमें निरन्तर

जग - विभूति समा रही है?

तूलिका से कौन रँग देता

तितलियों के परों को?

कौन फूलों के वसन को,

कौन रवि - शशि के करों को?

कौन निर्माता? कहाँ है?

नाम क्या है? धाम क्या है?

आदि क्या निर्माण का है?

अन्त का परिणाम क्या है?

खोजता वन - वन तिमिर का

ब्रह्म पर पर्दा लगाकर।

ढूँढ़ता है अन्ध मानव

ज्योति अपने में छिपाकर॥

बावला उन्मत्त जग से

पूछता अपना ठिकाना।

घूम अगणित बार आया,

आज तक जग को न जाना॥

सोचता जिससे वही है,

बोलता जिससे वही है।

देखने को बन्द आँखें

खोलता जिससे वही है॥

आँख में है ज्योति बनकर,

साँस में है वायु बनकर।

देखता जग - निधन पल - पल,

प्राण में है आयु बनकर॥

शब्द में है अर्थ बनकर,

अर्थ में है शब्द बनकर।

जा रहे युग - कल्प उनमें,

जा रहा है अब्द बनकर॥

यदि मिला साकार तो वह

अवध का अभिराम होगा।

हृदय उसका धाम होगा,

नाम उसका राम होगा॥

सृष्टि रचकर ज्योति दी है,

शशि वही, सविता वही है।

काव्य - रचना कर रहा है,

कवि वही, कविता वही है॥
